They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Drake Maye is the Giants' quarterback, full stop.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. That is a safety worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.
The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The Richie Grant pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 8th pick they get the face of the franchise at fair value.
Taking Troy Fautanu in the 43rd overall pick is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
T'Vondre Sweat in pick No. 47 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They let Malachi Corley come to them and pounced at slot 70. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
The board fumbled Renardo Green all the way to No. 107, and they scooped it up. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Josh Newton at pick 141 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The roster fit checks out.
A clean, defensible pick in Round 6, Pick 8 with a little surplus value in Layden Robinson. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
