The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Giants spent their marquee pick on Drake Maye, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
Mitchell at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 8 they get a franchise quarterback. A real need, handled.
Quinyon Mitchell in pick No. 43 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Tyler Nubin in pick 47. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They read the board right and Ruke Orhorhoro was the payoff at the 70th pick. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Jalen McMillan at Round 4, Pick 7 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Nothing to complain about; Dallin Holker went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Sataoa Laumea at slot 183 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
