The Giants' one glaring miss is interior defensive lineman, a need they left exactly as they found it. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
Every board in the league had Flournoy lower, and that gap is the story. On the needs board they went 5 of 9, with safety the one that mattered most. The skill positions did well by the weekend.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 6 they get a home-run threat at receiver at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Christian Haynes well ahead of where he belonged. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
No drama and no debate, Max Melton went about where he belonged in the Round 3 slot. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Braelon Allen. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Kitan Oladapo at slot 141 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Ryan Flournoy at the 183rd pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
