Boards are made to be trusted, and the Giants shredded theirs for Le'Veon Moss. He came off 22 spots early, and the room will hear about it. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
On value alone, Durant makes the weekend a net positive. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. Job largely done: interior defensive lineman settled and 6 of 9 of the wish list covered.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 5th overall pick they get a two-high chess piece at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
No edge and no loss on Emmanuel Pregnon in No. 37; it is a wash and a sensible one. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A quiet steal in the 109th pick: Malik Muhammad for less than the market said. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Dametrious Crownover in the Round 5 slot is fair value, right on his grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Le'Veon Moss at pick No. 186 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A need, and now a little less of one.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Zane Durant at pick 192. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A tidy little value on Jeff Caldwell in pick 193, a step better than break-even. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
