Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Giants, and the value they bled adds up to real damage.
That is an offensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
Every board in the league had Rattler lower, and that gap is the story. The roster is better shaped than it was, with safety chief among the fixes.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 15 they get a press-man option on the boundary at fair value. A real need, handled.
A tidy little value on Keon Coleman in the Round 2 slot, a step better than break-even. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They paid sticker price for Jaylen Wright in No. 70, and that is fine. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They paid up for Spencer Rattler at pick 107 when waiting would have done the job. It fills a real need, too.
Luke McCaffrey at Round 5, Pick 5 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Walter Rouse in the 183rd pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Evan Williams in No. 234 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
