The war room fell hard for Jasheen Davis, and it showed at Round 7, Pick 22: 118 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.

The Belton pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.4 · Pick 4 · Ashton Jeanty · RB · rank 2
In the 4th overall pick they get a featured back at fair value.
R2.6 · Pick 38 · Nick Emmanwori · S · rank 20
Nick Emmanwori in the Round 2 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R3.5 · Pick 69 · Xavier Watts · S · rank 43
They robbed the room for Xavier Watts here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R3.13 · Pick 77 · Jack Bech · WR · rank 65
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jack Bech in pick 77. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R4.4 · Pick 106 · Savion Williams · WR · rank 90
Savion Williams is a better player than Round 4, Pick 4 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R5.6 · Pick 144 · Anthony Belton · OT · rank 110
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Anthony Belton in the 144th pick, plain and simple. The roster fit checks out.
R7.4 · Pick 220 · Dayon Hayes · DE-EDGE · rank 313
Dayon Hayes at pick 220 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R7.12 · Pick 228 · Chimere Dike · WR · rank 212
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Chimere Dike at slot 228 is the proof. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R7.22 · Pick 238 · Jasheen Davis · DL-EDGE · rank 356
They reached a country mile for Jasheen Davis at Round 7, Pick 22, and the board is aghast. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R7.28 · Pick 244 · Alijah Huzzie · CB · rank 215
The board fumbled Alijah Huzzie all the way to the 244th pick, and they scooped it up. A minor itch, scratched.
