Somebody in the Round 7 slot was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Texans sat still while Ollie Gordon II, the No. 159 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
The wide receiver spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Job largely done: running back settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
By-the-book stuff, Kenneth Grant at pick 25 squarely in line with his ranking. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Steal is underselling it; Tyler Booker at the 58th overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Donovan Jackson at pick No. 89 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Oronde Gadsden II in the 126th pick is fair value, right on his grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Kevin Winston Jr. in the Round 5 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Ollie Gordon II in slot 241 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
