The steal of the weekend belongs to the Texans and Tuten: B.

The rest of the league will want that one back. Bhayshul Tuten tumbling to the Texans in slot 239 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.

They are betting Nwankpa proves the room right and everyone else wrong. The wide receiver hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Running back is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the wide receiver spot they never got to.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.19 · Pick 19 · Walter Nolen · DT · rank 12
In Round 1, Pick 19 they get a wrecking ball inside. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
R2.23 · Pick 55 · Kenneth Grant · DT · rank 26
Somehow Kenneth Grant was still sitting there in slot 55, and they pounced on premier interior defensive lineman value. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R3.22 · Pick 86 · Luke Kandra · OG · rank 108
A wild overpay on Luke Kandra in the 86th pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R4.21 · Pick 122 · Andrew Mukuba · S · rank 71
They robbed the room for Andrew Mukuba here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
R5.27 · Pick 164 · Xavier Nwankpa · S · rank 190
They left a pile of value on the table to take Xavier Nwankpa this early at No. 164. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
R7.23 · Pick 239 · Bhayshul Tuten · RB · rank 157
Bhayshul Tuten in pick No. 239 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
