Thirty-one other rooms let Cam Skattebo slide, and the Texans were the ones holding the card at pick 165. Highway robbery. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.
For all the activity, wide receiver went untouched, which is hard to explain. Reaching for Booker left real value on the table behind him.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the wide receiver spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 25th pick they get a blindside protector, though they paid up to get him. A real need, handled.
Colston Loveland slid further than he should have, and Round 2, Pick 26 is lovely value for the tight end. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Circle this one: Alfred Collins at the Round 3 slot is a fall that decides a draft. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Kevin Winston Jr. at pick 126 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
A running back of that caliber at slot 165 is the definition of value, full stop. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Shilo Sanders at the 241st overall pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
