Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Texans were there to profit. Ollie Gordon II, the No. 159 name on the board, should have been long gone before pick No. 241. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it. Running back was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 25th overall pick they get a wrecking ball inside at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Tyler Booker in slot 58, plain and simple. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Circle this one: Andrew Mukuba at Round 3, Pick 25 is a fall that decides a draft. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
They took Oronde Gadsden II at par in the Round 4 slot, which is nothing to complain about. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They robbed the room for Smael Mondon Jr. here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Steal is underselling it; Ollie Gordon II at pick 241 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
