Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Texans were there to profit. Bhayshul Tuten, the No. 151 name on the board, should have been long gone before pick 241. No fireworks, but a solid B.
If Jackson pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 25 they get a No. 1 receiver at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Donovan Jackson at No. 58 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A conviction pick on Luke Kandra at the 89th overall pick that the board grades a round light. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Somehow Andrew Mukuba was still sitting there in the 126th pick, and they pounced on premier safety value. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Barrett Carter at pick No. 165 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A need, and now a little less of one.
They robbed the room for Bhayshul Tuten here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
