The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Kaleb Johnson, Round 4, Pick 25, roughly 86 picks past where he belonged.
They will need Nwankpa to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They punted on wide receiver, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 25 they get a plug-and-play piece up front, even if it was a touch early.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Tyler Warren in Round 2, Pick 26. It fills a real need, too.
Alfred Collins in pick No. 89 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Kaleb Johnson at the 126th pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A big swing on Xavier Nwankpa at the 164th overall pick, well ahead of any board in the building. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
A reach on Shilo Sanders in pick 241; the board had better options right there. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
