The rest of the league will want that one back. Sonny Styles tumbling to the Texans in pick 165 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
The Capehart pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. That running back hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 25 they get a No. 1 receiver, and a steal at that. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A big swing on Donovan Jackson at Round 2, Pick 26, well ahead of any board in the building. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They paid up for Luke Kandra at the Round 3 slot when waiting would have done the job. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Value said wait; DeMonte Capehart in slot 126 says they were not listening. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They barely believed it either: Sonny Styles still on the board at the 165th overall pick. A minor need, but a need all the same.
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Shilo Sanders. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
