The Texans let Skattebo fall into their laps, and walked away with a B.

The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Texans watched Cam Skattebo slide 126 picks past his grade and did not hesitate.
They will need Capehart to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 19th overall pick they get a difference-maker at receiver, and a steal at that. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They barely believed it either: Tyler Booker still on the board at the 55th pick. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Tyler Warren in pick 86 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A wild overpay on DeMonte Capehart in No. 122, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A big swing on Xavier Nwankpa at pick No. 164, well ahead of any board in the building. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Cam Skattebo in the Round 7 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
