When a board-topper like Cam Skattebo slides to pick 241, you do not overthink it, and the Texans did not. The bottom line is a respectable B.
Leaving wide receiver unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Booker has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with running back the one that mattered most.
Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 25th overall pick they get an anchor for the offensive line, reach and all.
Tyler Warren is a better player than pick No. 58 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They read the board right and Omarr Norman-Lott was the payoff at the Round 3 slot. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
You do not let a safety like Kevin Winston Jr. reach Round 4, Pick 25 and blink. They did not. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
They will replay Barrett Carter at the 165th pick for years; that is how good the value is. It fills a real need, too.
