You could see the war room lean forward. Cam Skattebo at pick No. 241 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it. Running back was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 25 they get a load in the middle at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Tyler Booker in pick 58 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
You do not let a tight end like Tyler Warren reach pick No. 89 and blink. They did not. A need, and now a little less of one.
Somehow Andrew Mukuba was still sitting there in the Round 4 slot, and they pounced on premier safety value. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
The board fumbled Luke Kandra all the way to slot 164, and they scooped it up. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They barely believed it either: Cam Skattebo still on the board at Round 7, Pick 25. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
