Thirty-one other rooms let Cam Skattebo slide, and the Texans were the ones holding the card at the 241st overall pick. Highway robbery.
A whole weekend of picks and wide receiver is somehow still a want. The Booker pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with running back the one that mattered most. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a plug-and-play piece up front, even if it was a touch early.
They paid up for Deone Walker at pick 58 when waiting would have done the job. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Andrew Mukuba in No. 89 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
No edge and no loss on Oronde Gadsden II in the 126th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Kevin Winston Jr. in slot 165 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
