This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Bhayshul Tuten, the No. 155 name on the board, stolen at Round 7, Pick 25. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
Leaving wide receiver unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Reaching for Broughton left real value on the table behind him. Running back is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the wide receiver spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get a cornerstone up front, even if it was a touch early. A clean fit for the roster.
Tyler Warren is a better player than pick 58 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Xavier Watts in pick No. 89 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Vernon Broughton at the 126th overall pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A safety of that caliber at No. 165 is the definition of value, full stop. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Steal is underselling it; Bhayshul Tuten at slot 241 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
