When a board-topper like Lathan Ransom slides to the Round 5 slot, you do not overthink it, and the Texans did not.
For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain. The roster is better shaped than it was, with interior defensive lineman chief among the fixes.
Good work on the whole, with running back the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
They took Kenneth Grant at par in the 25th pick, which is nothing to complain about. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
The board had Tyler Warren higher than No. 58, and the tight end fell to them anyway. It fills a real need, too.
Dylan Fairchild in Round 3, Pick 25 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A top-tier interior defensive lineman at a bargain, Deone Walker in the 126th overall pick, plain and simple. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
The board fumbled Lathan Ransom all the way to slot 165, and they scooped it up. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Shilo Sanders at pick No. 241 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
