The Texans did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Bhayshul Tuten fell into No. 241. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up. Running back was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 25 they get a disruptive interior force, and a steal at that. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A quiet steal in the 58th pick: Tyler Warren for less than the market said. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They did well to land Donovan Jackson in pick No. 89, just ahead of his grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Taking Kevin Winston Jr. in No. 126 is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Barrett Carter at the 165th overall pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. The roster fit checks out.
Bhayshul Tuten in slot 241 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
