This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Smael Mondon Jr., the No. 104 name on the board, stolen at the 239th pick. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
If Capehart pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. A whole weekend of picks and running back is somehow still a want. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Good work on the whole, with running back the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 19th overall pick they get a true top target, and a steal at that. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Nice patience on Tyler Warren, who had no business lasting to the 55th pick. The roster fit checks out.
Donovan Jackson at No. 86 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Value said wait; DeMonte Capehart in Round 4, Pick 21 says they were not listening. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Xavier Nwankpa well ahead of where he belonged. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Steal is underselling it; Smael Mondon Jr. at the Round 7 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
