The Texans spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Bhayshul Tuten, the No. 155 name on the board, in the Round 7 slot.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. The roster is better shaped than it was, with running back chief among the fixes.
They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 25 they get a true top target. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
The board had Tyler Warren higher than pick No. 58, and the tight end fell to them anyway. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They robbed the room for Xavier Watts here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Luke Kandra at Round 4, Pick 25 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Smael Mondon Jr. in slot 165 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Taking Bhayshul Tuten in the 241st pick is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
