The board owed the Texans one, and it paid up: Bhayshul Tuten, the No. 158 name on the board, sitting there at No. 241 like a gift left on the doorstep. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
Every board in the league had Nwankpa lower, and that gap is the story. That wide receiver hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a disruptive interior force. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A slide stopped in the 58th pick, with Tyler Warren worth more than the price. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Value said wait; Luke Kandra in pick No. 89 says they were not listening. It fills a real need, too.
They barely believed it either: Andrew Mukuba still on the board at No. 126. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
A wild overpay on Xavier Nwankpa in the 164th overall pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Bhayshul Tuten in Round 7, Pick 25 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
