Houston Texans

The Texans cashed the board's mistake on Tuten: B-.

Call it larceny. Bhayshul Tuten sat on the board until pick 241, and the Texans did not need to be asked twice.

The wide receiver hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They are betting Broughton proves the room right and everyone else wrong. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with running back the one that mattered most.

The offense got the lion's share of the attention.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Tyler Booker · OG · rank 37
In the 25th pick they get protection for the quarterback, even if it was a touch early. A real need, handled.
R2.26 · Pick 58 · Tyler Warren · TE · rank 43
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Tyler Warren at the 58th overall pick is the proof. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R3.25 · Pick 89 · Jalon Walker · LB · rank 22
You do not let a linebacker like Jalon Walker reach pick 89 and blink. They did not. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R4.25 · Pick 126 · Vernon Broughton · DL · rank 144
A wild overpay on Vernon Broughton in Round 4, Pick 25, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R5.28 · Pick 165 · Billy Bowman Jr. · S · rank 111
Circle this one: Billy Bowman Jr. at slot 165 is a fall that decides a draft. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
R7.25 · Pick 241 · Bhayshul Tuten · RB · rank 155
They will replay Bhayshul Tuten at No. 241 for years; that is how good the value is. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
