Call it larceny. Bhayshul Tuten sat on the board until No. 239, and the Texans did not need to be asked twice. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
The Nwankpa pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through wide receiver. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with running back the one that mattered most.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a disruptive interior force. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Tyler Warren slipping to pick 55 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They took Donovan Jackson at par in slot 86, which is nothing to complain about. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Smael Mondon Jr. at Round 4, Pick 21 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Xavier Nwankpa at No. 164 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A minor need, but a need all the same.
