The board owed the Texans one, and it paid up: Ollie Gordon II, the No. 164 name on the board, sitting there at pick 241 like a gift left on the doorstep. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. The roster is better shaped than it was, with running back chief among the fixes.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 25 they get a No. 1 receiver at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
They will replay Tyler Booker at Round 2, Pick 26 for years; that is how good the value is. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Omarr Norman-Lott slid further than he should have, and slot 89 is lovely value for the interior defensive lineman. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Andrew Mukuba at the 126th overall pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Oronde Gadsden II in No. 165 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It fills a real need, too.
Taking Ollie Gordon II in the 241st pick is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
