The rest of the league will want that one back. Cam Skattebo tumbling to the Texans in the 241st pick is a gift they did not have to think twice about. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
Leaving wide receiver unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with running back the one that mattered most. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 25 they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Jalon Walker at the 58th pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They will replay Deone Walker at the 89th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Luke Kandra slipping to pick 126 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It fills a real need, too.
Kevin Winston Jr. in Round 5, Pick 27 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Cam Skattebo at No. 241 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
