Call it larceny. Sonny Styles sat on the board until No. 165, and the Texans did not need to be asked twice. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.
The cost of the Griffith reach is exactly the players who went right after him. For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain.
Good work on the whole, with running back the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 25 they get a true top target. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Colston Loveland in slot 58. The roster fit checks out.
They will replay Xavier Watts at pick 89 for years; that is how good the value is. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Luke Kandra in No. 126 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Steal is underselling it; Sonny Styles at Round 5, Pick 28 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Thor Griffith at the 241st pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
