Somebody in the 241st overall pick was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Texans sat still while Cam Skattebo, the No. 110 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.
They will need Cross III to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. Running back is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

In the Round 1 slot they get a go-to option on the outside at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Somehow Tate Ratledge was still sitting there in slot 58, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
