Thirty-one other rooms let Bhayshul Tuten slide, and the Texans were the ones holding the card at the Round 7 slot. Highway robbery. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
They are betting Capehart proves the room right and everyone else wrong. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. Job largely done: running back settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 25 they get a weapon on the perimeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
Tyler Warren at the Round 2 slot is money in the bank, a tight end taken below his worth. A need, and now a little less of one.
The board fumbled Dylan Fairchild all the way to No. 89, and they scooped it up. The roster fit checks out.
DeMonte Capehart at pick No. 126 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A safety of that caliber at slot 165 is the definition of value, full stop. It adds depth where they could use a little.
