The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Texans watched Cam Skattebo slide 55 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
That wide receiver hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They went 4 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 25 they get a run-stuffing presence up front at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Somehow Nick Emmanwori was still sitting there in Round 2, Pick 26, and they pounced on premier safety value. A minor itch, scratched.
Tyler Warren in slot 89 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Luke Kandra in the 126th overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It fills a real need, too.
Circle this one: Cam Skattebo at pick No. 165 is a fall that decides a draft. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Shilo Sanders in pick 241 is fair value, right on his grade. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
