This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Bhayshul Tuten, the No. 151 name on the board, stolen at slot 241. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
The wide receiver hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They are betting Broughton proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with running back the one that mattered most.
Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get protection for the quarterback, even if it was a touch early. A clean fit for the roster.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Tyler Warren in pick 58. A need, and now a little less of one.
They barely believed it either: Dylan Fairchild still on the board at the 89th pick. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A premium they did not need to pay, Vernon Broughton a notch or two before his time. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
You do not let a safety like Kevin Winston Jr. reach the Round 5 slot and blink. They did not. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
The board fumbled Bhayshul Tuten all the way to pick No. 241, and they scooped it up. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
