The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Isaiah Davis, Round 7, Pick 11, roughly 76 picks past where he belonged.
They are betting Rosemy-Jacksaint proves the room right and everyone else wrong. So much rides on Jayden Daniels that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him.
The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, interior defensive lineman very much included.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 9 they get the face of the franchise at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
They robbed the room for Marvin Harrison Jr. here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Patrick Paul at the 66th overall pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A wide receiver of that caliber at pick 68 is the definition of value, full stop. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A tidy little value on Kingsley Suamataia in slot 75, a step better than break-even. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
The board had cheaper options than Mohamed Kamara at Round 4, Pick 3, and it noticed. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They went early on Bucky Irving in the 122nd pick, and the value did not follow. The roster fit checks out.
A quiet steal in pick No. 137: Brenden Rice for less than the market said. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They did well to land James Williams in No. 180, just ahead of his grade. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
They reached a country mile for Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint at the Round 6 slot, and the board is aghast. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Isaiah Davis in Round 7, Pick 11 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
