The Giants ran the phones like sharks, prying loose value on deal after deal until the ledger was lopsided. A dependable weekend that grades out a B+.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through safety. They banked enough surplus on Pearsall to cover a lot of smaller sins.
Beebe has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. Job largely done: interior defensive lineman settled and 6 of 9 of the wish list covered.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 10 they get a true top target. The biggest hole, addressed.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Dallas Turner at slot 37. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A premium they did not need to pay, Cooper Beebe a notch or two before his time. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
By-the-book stuff, Denzel Burke at pick No. 54 squarely in line with his ranking. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Nice patience on Leonard Taylor III, who had no business lasting to the 69th overall pick. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
No edge and no loss on Audric Estime in the 105th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. A need, and now a little less of one.
Ricky Pearsall at the Round 5 slot is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
