It is the swing that defines the weekend: Anthony Belton in the 143rd overall pick, a good 108 spots before the room expected him. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. That Warren pick is the receipt they will wave around later. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 17 they get a cornerstone up front, though the board says they badly overpaid. A real need, handled.
Aireontae Ersery in the 38th overall pick is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Tyler Warren in pick No. 69 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A need, and now a little less of one.
A tidy bit of business in No. 81, where Deone Walker graded well above the range. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A wild overpay on Carson Schwesinger in slot 105, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Anthony Belton at the Round 5 slot is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It fills a real need, too.
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Davison Igbinosun. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Nohl Williams at the 220th overall pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
This one needs a full-page explanation: RJ Harvey in the 241st pick, miles early. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
