Green Bay Packers

The Packers robbed the room for Mitchell. Final grade: B.

Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Adonai Mitchell got past him. The Packers do not have to explain a thing at slot 88. The bottom line is a respectable B.

Reaching for Wright left real value on the table behind him. The Packers indulged a want in Bullard while a need in quarterback, tight end and other spots stayed open. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.28 · Pick 28 · Chop Robinson · DE-EDGE · rank 35
In No. 28 they get a disruptor off the edge. The biggest hole, addressed.
R2.9 · Pick 41 · Calen Bullock · S · rank 46
Calen Bullock in pick No. 41 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It adds depth where they could use a little.
R2.25 · Pick 57 · Keon Coleman · WR · rank 24
You do not let a wide receiver like Keon Coleman reach pick 57 and blink. They did not. The roster fit checks out.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Adonai Mitchell · WR · rank 32
Adonai Mitchell in Round 3, Pick 25 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R3.28 · Pick 91 · Javon Bullard · S · rank 64
A surprising call. With quarterback, tight end and other spots still to address, they spent the 91st overall pick on Javon Bullard, a safety they were not short of.
R4.25 · Pick 125 · Cedric Gray · LB · rank 135
A premium they did not need to pay, Cedric Gray a notch or two before his time. A minor itch, scratched.
R4.28 · Pick 128 · Jaylen Wright · RB · rank 158
A big swing on Jaylen Wright at slot 128, well ahead of any board in the building. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R4.35 · Pick 135 · Nehemiah Pritchett · CB · rank 142
No edge and no loss on Nehemiah Pritchett in the Round 4 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R6.28 · Pick 203 · Christian Jones · OT · rank 197
Christian Jones at the Round 6 slot is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R6.42 · Pick 217 · Roger Rosengarten · OT · rank 175
Steal is underselling it; Roger Rosengarten at No. 217 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R6.44 · Pick 219 · Nathaniel Watson · LB · rank 240
They left a pile of value on the table to take Nathaniel Watson this early at Round 6, Pick 44. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
R7.26 · Pick 246 · Dwight McGlothern · CB · rank 257
Dwight McGlothern in pick No. 246 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
