Good, not great, for the Packers: B-.

Nobody else had Jaylen Wright anywhere near Round 4, Pick 26. The Packers did, by 37 spots, and that gap is the whole story. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

The Phillips steal is the beam this whole class leans on. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Job largely done: cornerback settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Quinyon Mitchell · CB · rank 31
In No. 25 they get a potential shutdown corner at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
R2.9 · Pick 41 · Edgerrin Cooper · LB · rank 56
The board had cheaper options than Edgerrin Cooper at slot 41, and it noticed. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
R2.25 · Pick 57 · Zach Frazier · C · rank 62
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Zach Frazier. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · McKinnley Jackson · DL · rank 87
They paid sticker price for McKinnley Jackson in pick 88, and that is fine. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R3.28 · Pick 91 · Jaden Hicks · S · rank 107
A premium they did not need to pay, Jaden Hicks a notch or two before his time. A minor need, but a need all the same.
R4.26 · Pick 126 · Jaylen Wright · RB · rank 163
Jaylen Wright at the 126th pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R5.32 · Pick 168 · Dadrion Taylor-Demerson · S · rank 165
Dadrion Taylor-Demerson at pick 168 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
R6.28 · Pick 203 · Andru Phillips · CB · rank 176
Somehow Andru Phillips was still sitting there in pick No. 203, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R6.41 · Pick 216 · Christian Jones · OT · rank 208
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Christian Jones in the 216th overall pick. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R7.23 · Pick 243 · Isaac Guerendo · RB · rank 275
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Isaac Guerendo. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R7.31 · Pick 251 · Nathaniel Watson · LB · rank 259
They jumped the gun on Nathaniel Watson, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
