You build a draft on nights like this. Tyler Guyton had no business being available in slot 88, and the Packers did the only sane thing and turned in the card. No fireworks, but a solid B.
The Thomas pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 25 they get a sticky cover corner at a price that makes it sweeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A reach on Jackson Powers-Johnson in the 41st pick; the board had better options right there. It fills a real need, too.
They let Devontez Walker come to them and pounced at No. 57. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Calen Bullock in the 58th overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Tyler Guyton in pick No. 88, plain and simple. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Jaylen Wright at Round 4, Pick 25 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
