It is the swing that defines the weekend: Matt Gulbin in pick No. 155, a good 27 spots before the room expected him. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.
The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer. That is an offensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
Dillon Thieneman slid further than he should have, and the 36th pick is lovely value for the safety. It adds depth where they could use a little.
No drama and no debate, Joshua Josephs went about where he belonged in No. 41. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A tidy bit of business in Round 3, Pick 3, where Gennings Dunker graded well above the range. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They let Tacario Davis come to them and pounced at the Round 4 slot. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Justin Joly in pick 138 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. The roster fit checks out.
Kaytron Allen at pick No. 139 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They reached a country mile for Matt Gulbin at the 155th overall pick, and the board is aghast. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Jeff Caldwell in No. 195 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
