The Packers bet big and early on Brandon Coleman, 51 picks ahead of the board. Bold does not always mean right. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
The Barton steal is the beam this whole class leans on. The wide receiver hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The trade work was a quiet net positive.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 28 they get juice off the edge. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
They will replay Graham Barton at the 48th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. It fills a real need, too.
Payton Wilson at pick 58 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
A slide stopped in the 88th pick, with Max Melton worth more than the price. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Good price on Dominick Puni in No. 91, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Cole Bishop at pick No. 96 is a conviction pick that outran the value. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Elijah Jones in pick 126. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They liked Jarrian Jones enough to skip the value, taking him in the 128th pick. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Value said wait; Brandon Coleman in pick No. 134 says they were not listening. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Khristian Boyd well ahead of where he belonged. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Joe Milton III at No. 169 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A real head-scratcher, Trevin Wallace in the Round 6 slot is miles ahead of his ranking. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Caedan Wallace in slot 219 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Michael Barrett slid further than he should have, and Round 7, Pick 25 is lovely value for the linebacker. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
They read the board right and Edefuan Ulofoshio was the payoff at the Round 7 slot. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Kimani Vidal in slot 255 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
