Somebody took the Giants to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it. Fine in stretches, shaky in others: a C-.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Everette. They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work. They went 4 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
In the end, a coin-flip class: fine today, with a wide range of outcomes ahead.
Pick-by-Pick
No drama and no debate, Jake Slaughter went about where he belonged in the Round 2 slot. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They will replay Daylen Everette at Round 4, Pick 5 for years; that is how good the value is. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A slide stopped in the 154th pick, with Malik Benson worth more than the price. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A tidy bit of business in No. 186, where Domani Jackson graded well above the range. The roster fit checks out.
