Somebody took the Raiders to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it.
Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Wheatley at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, edge rusher very much included.
Pick-by-Pick
A tidy little value on Chris Brazzell II in pick 36, a step better than break-even. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Christen Miller is a better player than No. 67 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Elijah Sarratt in the Round 4 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Zakee Wheatley at the 117th overall pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
They read the board right and Carson Beck was the payoff at the 134th pick. The roster fit checks out.
A slide stopped in slot 151, with CJ Daniels worth more than the price. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They let Domani Jackson come to them and pounced at Round 6, Pick 4. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Eric McAlister at the 208th pick. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Toriano Pride Jr. slid further than he should have, and pick No. 219 is lovely value for the cornerback. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
