The Titans spent real capital to be 31 picks early on Jeremiah Wright, and the board is going to hold them to it. A weekend that fought the value and lost, hence the D.
The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through running back. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Golday.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, running back very much included.
Pick-by-Pick
Logan Jones in the 90th pick is fair value, right on his grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Jake Golday in pick 101 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
The board had Joe Royer higher than the 142nd overall pick, and the tight end fell to them anyway. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Value with a capital V on Oscar Delp in No. 144, a genuine coup. It fills a real need, too.
Jeremiah Wright at Round 6, Pick 6 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Domani Jackson in pick 194 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Bryce Foster well ahead of where he belonged. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
