Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Cowboys spent the 139th overall pick on Grayson Murphy, a name the board had a full 37 spots lower. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
Getting Pearl where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. The wide receiver spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Quantity was the play, for better or worse.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the wide receiver spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 24 they get a blindside protector at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
They reached into another round for Trey Benson, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It fills a real need, too.

They barely believed it either: Trente Jones still on the board at pick 216. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Julian Pearl in the 233rd overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
