The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Patriots spent their marquee pick on Jayden Daniels, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. This is how you run a draft, and the A- reflects it.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. Reaching for Murphy left real value on the table behind him.

They banked enough surplus on Alexander to cover a lot of smaller sins. They will regret leaving tight end for another day if the season turns on it.

Few war rooms will sleep better than this one tonight.
