Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Packers came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close.
Landing Randolph Jr. that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They are betting Watson proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
They did well to land Jared Verse in pick No. 16, just ahead of his grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Taliese Fuaga at No. 39 is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. The roster fit checks out.
A tidy little value on Nate Wiggins in the 43rd overall pick, a step better than break-even. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Circle this one: Emeka Egbuka at pick 48 is a fall that decides a draft. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Sedrick Van Pran at Round 3, Pick 11 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
By-the-book stuff, Rod Moore at the 82nd pick squarely in line with his ranking. A minor need, but a need all the same.
They took Brenden Rice at par in slot 111, which is nothing to complain about. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Howard Cross III in the Round 4 slot is fair value, right on his grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A straight-up fair deal on Shemar Turner at pick 135, value and slot in agreement. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A slide stopped in No. 189, with LaDarius Henderson worth more than the price. A need, and now a little less of one.
They barely believed it either: Keith Randolph Jr. still on the board at slot 217. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A premium they did not need to pay, Reuben Fatheree II a notch or two before his time. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They talked themselves into Blake Watson at the Round 7 slot, and the board did not agree. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
