A solid, sensible weekend for the Commanders: B-.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Commanders reached some 40 spots for Charles Demmings, and value like that does not grow back.
Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Green at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but tight end.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 7 they get a ballhawk on the back end. More want than need.
Jake Slaughter at No. 71 is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Nothing to complain about; Malik Benson went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Charles Demmings. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Taylen Green in the Round 6 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The roster fit checks out.
Trey Zuhn III in pick 223 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
