For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Chiefs walked out of the weekend still thin at tight end, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
The Fiske pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. That is an offensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.
Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a No. 1 receiver. The biggest hole, addressed.
A big swing on Braden Fiske at No. 63, well ahead of any board in the building. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
No drama and no debate, Blake Fisher went about where he belonged in Round 3, Pick 31. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Justin Eboigbe at pick 131 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the edge rusher. The roster fit checks out.
Kitan Oladapo at slot 161 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Javon Baker at pick No. 171 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, LaDarius Henderson at the 175th pick. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
