The Bills went off the board in a big way for Dominic Zvada, 80 picks early. Conviction is one thing; this is another. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
They banked enough surplus on Orange to cover a lot of smaller sins. For all the activity, safety went untouched, which is hard to explain.
A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly. They left with linebacker solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
No drama and no debate, Chris Bell went about where he belonged in the 34th overall pick. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They liked Jacob Rodriguez enough to skip the value, taking him in the 43rd pick. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
The board fumbled Domonique Orange all the way to pick No. 91, and they scooped it up. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They talked themselves into Beau Stephens at Round 4, Pick 26, and the board did not agree. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Ephesians Prysock well ahead of where he belonged. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
A conviction pick on Red Murdock at pick 182 that the board grades a round light. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A market-rate tight end, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Riley Nowakowski. It fills a real need, too.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Dominic Zvada this early at the Round 7 slot. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
