Some picks age like wine; Brevyn Spann-Ford at pick No. 193 will need to, sitting 71 spots clear of his grade.
So much rides on Drake Maye that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain.
The Wallace value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 3 they get a passer to set the clock by. A real need, handled.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Xavier Legette well ahead of where he belonged. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A reach for Patrick Paul in pick 68; a little patience would have been rewarded. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Brenden Rice in No. 114 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A real head-scratcher, Chau Smith-Wade in pick No. 137 is miles ahead of his ranking. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Taking Caedan Wallace in Round 5, Pick 17 is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They reached a country mile for Jaylen Harrell at the Round 6 slot, and the board is aghast. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Brevyn Spann-Ford this early at the 193rd pick. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They went early on Emani Bailey in pick No. 231, and the value did not follow. A need, and now a little less of one.
